Y^2+12x=2y-13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do i graph this. I know y has to be alone but how do i do that?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

there are terms with y^2 AND with y in this means you cannot get y on its own try getting x on its own...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the "Y" on one side a variable "y"?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

As I said above - you cannot get this into the form y= f(x) because there are terms in y AND y^2 However - you CAN get it in the form x= f(y) (and you can see that it is a quadratic This simply means that you have swapped the axes of the graph - and, although we normally see quadratics with a U shape facing up or down, in this case it will be a U shape facing left or right
