How did Greek sculptures of figures differ from Egyptian and Roman ones? They were carvings made of cream-colored ivory. They first showed the contrapposto pose, with the weight shifted to one leg and the body in an S-curve. They were very sturdy, with arms and legs positioned close to the torso. They depicted elderly and others who were physically unfit.
