Which word correctly completes the sentence? My oldest __________ coin collection includes some rare and valuable items. A. brother's B. brothers C. brothers' B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes C :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My pleasure! Tag me if you need anymore help :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okey!

OpenStudy (<3meggann<3):

if its possessive wouldn't it be A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No because then it would be brother is...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

's = is

OpenStudy (<3meggann<3):

that's not the case here though, using apostrophe -s is how you change a singular noun into possessive form..

OpenStudy (<3meggann<3):

brothers' would be the plural possessive noun, but brother's would be the singular possessive noun, "A noun names a person, place, thing, idea, quality or action. A possessive noun shows ownership by adding an apostrophe ('), an 's' or both. To make a single noun possessive, simply add an apostrophe and an 's'"

Hmmmm... idk :p lol
