will fan+medal!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!! Use integer values of x from -3 to 3 to graph the equation y=-|-x|.
a
b.
c.
d.
@Otterthecat would you know this one too?
I apologize, I don't ^-^" Sorry!
thats alright :)
y=-|-x| Well, 1) |Stuff| is never negative, so -|Stuff| is never positive. You can throw out anythign that is ever positive. That looks like A and D are gone. Okay, how do we distinguish between B and C?
hmm... from the -3 and 3?
2) Where does |x| make a difference? |-3.1| = 3.1 |-3.0| = 3.0 |-2.9| = 2.9 Looks like things around -3 act about the same. The sign was changed on all of them. |3.1| = 3.1 |3.0| = 3.0 |2.9| = 2.9 Looks like things around +3 act about the same. Nothing happened. |-0.1| = 0.1 |0.0| = 0.0 |0.1| = 0.1 Now, THERE'S something interesting. Some changed sign and some didn't.
yeah, that is interesting! why?
so, the negatives changed?
Look at B and C. Which graph has the right Interesting Part? It looks like the both are interesting around x = 0, so that didn't help much. Okay, which one actually restricts the Domain to [-3,3]? Answer that and we're done.
C?
@tkhunny would it be c?
