OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think a(:

OpenStudy (foreverjennnicole):

I'd actually say C for that one. The comma separates two independent clauses, so it should be two sentences instead of one, making it a run-on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm... i dont know what one to pickkk..

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

They are both odd sentences, but C is a run-on because it contains two independent clauses.

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

So yes, the answer is C.

OpenStudy (foreverjennnicole):

Thank you, I was almost certain I was right but I didn't want to get into an argument! Hahaha. So @Tabby_012, the best answer is C :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which kind of complement is the underlined word? Mom, give us a break, just once. A. indirect object B. direct object C. predicate nominative D. predicate adjective

OpenStudy (anonymous):

indirect object?

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Which word is underlined?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and US is underlined

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Yes, you're right. "us" is the indirect object :)

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

An indirect object precedes the direct object and tells to whom or for whom the action of the verb is done and who is receiving the direct object. There must be a direct object to have an indirect object.

OpenStudy (foreverjennnicole):

I agree!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which kind of complement are the underlined words? Isn't this movie The Black Stallion? A. direct object B. predicate nominative C. indirect object D. predicate adjective The Black Stallion is underlined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think predicate nominative

OpenStudy (foreverjennnicole):

You're right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which kind of complement is the underlined word? How long have you played piano? A. indirect object B. predicate adjective C. direct object D. predicate nominative piano is underlind

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think direct object

OpenStudy (foreverjennnicole):

Correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which kind of complement are the underlined words? The winner of the first place ribbon for science is Robin Serranos! A. direct object B. predicate nominative C. indirect object D. predicate adjective

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Robin Serranos is underlined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think predicate nominative

OpenStudy (foreverjennnicole):

I'm actually not sure on this one. If you take out all the extra junk in the sentence, you have "The winner IS Robin Serranos." Since both the direct object and predicate nominative answer the question of "what" or "who", I'm stuck between the two. But usually a predicate nominative follows a linking verb, and in this case it does, so I'm going so say you're correct again. @vera_ewing what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im pretty sure its predicate nominative but yeah @vera_ewing got any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im going to start a new question thing an tag you in it until she replies so i can keep going? is that okay with you? @foreverjennnicole

OpenStudy (foreverjennnicole):

Sure :)
