jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
yeah I'm also getting 3.3
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
Seven?
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
#7
3.14*(3.5/2)^2*8 = 76.93
you can get more accuracy if you use more digits of pi
pi*(3.5/2)^2*8 = 76.96902001295
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
Okay thank you. Eight?
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
2*pi*12.5^2*4+30*17*9 = 8,516.99081698724
2*pi*12.5^2*4 represents the volume of the two cylindrical ends
30*17*9 is the volume of the rectangular prism

So you're close but off a bit. There was a rounding error somewhere
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
Thanks for letting me know about that. Nine?
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
Retry #9 using the calculator I gave you
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
your answer is close but not quite there

pi*(13/2)^2*28 is the volume of the outer cylinder
pi*(4.5/2)^2*28 is the volume of the inner cylinder
Total volume = (outer cylinder volume) - (inner cylinder volume)
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
can you just say whether my answers are correct or not? I have 3 percent charge left on laptop.
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
#10 I'm getting 101.292563133926 so that rounds to 101.3 gallons
OpenStudy (calculusxy):
thanks :) the last three? you don't have to rush or anything. just as much as you can
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
