How are a pyramid and a cone similar? They both have polygon bases. They both have lateral faces. They both have one base. They both have vertices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, what do u think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know thats why i am asking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If u look at them closely, u'll c a similarity. A cone doesn't have a polygonal base bcz it's base is a circle, and a circle isn't a polygon. So, A's out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm D, a pyramid has vertices, but a cone only has a vertex. This answer is out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*And D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now B is not true AT ALL. Lateral faces means when a 3-D shape has no base like the cube. There's no base. Any face could b the base. But a pyramid isn't, and neither is a cone.

I practically gave u the answer with the process of elimination. :) I hope I helped u figure it out.
