I need help with solfege and finding the key of a song. I am auditioning for Chambers and I need to know how to sight read. Thanks for any help! -Belle212

What is it you need to know? Do you know anything about solfege or key signatures?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know how to find the key of a song, but I have trouble playing the song. I'm not sure if that makes any sense, but say for example a song is in the key of D? If I have never heard that song before and I tried to play it on the piano, I am not sure where to start since D appears more than once on the piano

If you have sheet music you should be able to tell which octave of d to start on based on where the note is on the staff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As you continue to play and learn the song you will realize where to play each note. The higher you see D on the staff is the higher register you will play on the piano. In other words, when viewing the top line of your sheet music which is in treble clef in most cases, if you can find middle C or the C with the line through the middle. That is Middle C and you should be able to figure out the how high or low the rest of the piece Is based around that. I hope that makes sense! Any questions on that and let me know. Sorry I am just seeing this now but my new account is @speraticdownpour
