Read the passage. “Love your enemies; bless them that curse you; do good to them that hate you and despitefully use you. … Life appears to me to be too short to be spent in nursing animosity or registering wrongs.” In this passage from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, what is Helen’s philosophy? People should be hateful toward their enemies. Life is too short not to be thinking about one’s future. Life should not be spent harboring hostilities. People should use their enemies to right wrongs.
