OpenStudy (anonymous):

howdy help me factor completely 8x^2+24x^2+80x

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

Find a GCF first

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

that way we can work with smaller numbers :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would I find gcf

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 8. lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks but I need to find out how it for a test tom

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

right so now just divide all the numbers by 8 @chlobohoe it would have been great if you let the asker find it so that they can learn :)

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

List the prime factors of each number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol sorry let me rephrase that. ITS 8 BECAUSE its the number that is a factor of each variable

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

You can do that with all of the numbers in the equation and you would know that the factor is 8 :) do you get it ? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol thanks Im just really bad at math but good at everything eas

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

its oky now divide all the numbers by 8 :)

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

8x^2+24x^2+80x 8/8 24/8 80/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry this computer is messing up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the gcf is 8 hen we split is

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so after the 8/8 24/8 80/8 what do we do

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

divide them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What you mean

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

what is 8/8 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

yep so our equation now would be 8(x^2+3x+10)

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

Do you know what to do next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry no I do not

Nnesha (nnesha):

8x^2+24x^2+80x is it your question ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mess up on the question 8x^3+24x^2+80×

Nnesha (nnesha):

yeah that's your question ^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry

Nnesha (nnesha):

so what is common in all 3 terms ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8

Nnesha (nnesha):

there is something else that you can out as a common factor |dw:1431908301108:dw|
