OpenStudy (hysusonic):

do you know what the formula y=mx+b is?

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

not really

Nnesha (nnesha):

hint: parallel lines should have same slope

OpenStudy (hysusonic):

okay so the formula itself is to find the y-value but to find that value, you need to know what the slope and y-intercept are

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

Ok I know that

Nnesha (nnesha):

y = mx+ b is slope intercept form where m is slope and b is y-intercept so \[\huge\rm y=\frac{ 1 }{ 3 }x-3\] what is slope in this equation ?

OpenStudy (hysusonic):

so now what do each of the variables mean in the formula?

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

Each Variable is a value in the slope right?

Nnesha (nnesha):

m represent slope

OpenStudy (hysusonic):

no M= slope and as what @Nnesha said, b=the y-intercept

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

Ok so... whats next?

Nnesha (nnesha):

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Nnesha y = mx+ b is slope intercept form where m is slope and b is y-intercept so \[\huge\rm y=\frac{ 1 }{ 3 }x-3\] what is slope in this equation ? \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) you didn't answer my question.....
