Yesterday, Consuela bought some fudge and carmels for $5.25. She bought 2 pieces of fudge at 50 cents a piece and some caramels at 25 cents each. She gave some caramels to her friend Carrie. Now she has 2 pieces of fudge and 10 caramels. If consuela did not eat any candy yet, how many caramels did Carrie receive?

Hold on I almost got it

ok

okay she didn't give away any fudge so 2 fudge is 1.00 so that leaves 4.25 with 4.25 you can get 17 caramels. now she has 10 so that makes it 7 she gave away to carrie. I believe I'm correct
