can someone please hep me? asap medal, fan, and testimonial :]

OpenStudy (emmamink):

ok, this is a little unclear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's all it provides, sorry.

OpenStudy (emmamink):

ok. hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thank you take your time.

OpenStudy (emmamink):

21 i think for the pyramid and cube one

OpenStudy (emmamink):

40.5 for the other I think. i could be very wrong.

OpenStudy (emmamink):

hold on......ill b right back

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you tell my how you're solving this? Also okay.

OpenStudy (emmamink):

@.S

OpenStudy (emmamink):

@.Sam.

OpenStudy (emmamink):

can you help us?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the volume of the cone is one third(1/3) of the volume of the cylinder with the same height and radius. some for the cube, the volume of the pyramid is one third(1/3) of the cube with the same base area and height.

OpenStudy (emmamink):

@TheSmartOne

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so the difference is volume of cylinder - 1/3 volume of cylinder or you could just find 2/3 the volume of the cylinder... same for the cube and pyramid The formulas Cylinder: \[V = \pi r^2 h\] Cone with same radius and height \[V = \frac{1}{3} \pi r^2h\] hope it helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so I find the volume of the cylinder and subtract is by 1/3? sorry If I sound dumb I'm just trying to learn this.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well you are given the volume of the cylinder 81 ft^3 so find 1/3 of that... that is the volume of the cone... then to find the difference its 81 - 1/3 of 81 does that make sense...?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

and its the same for the cube and pyramid Cube = 42 ft^3 pyramid will be 1/3 of 42 difference = 42 - 1/3 of 42

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So for the Cube and Pyramid would it be 14? and Cylinder and Cone would it be 27?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well for the cylinder/cone Cylinder = 81 cone = 27 difference = 81 - 27 cube/pyramid Cube = 42 pyramid = 14 difference = 42 - 14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah okay, I see now thank you so much!
