Can someone Explain this to me? http://gyazo.com/4a2e80181db348c38b0817c05ef88beb

@breanna77

Mehek (mehek14):

well first you have to multiply them

Mehek (mehek14):

so you change 5\(\dfrac{3}{7}\) into an improper fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And how do you do that?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

first change 5 3/7 to an improper fraction there are 35 1/7's in 5 so we get 5 3/7 = 35/7 + 3/7 = 38/7

OpenStudy (welshfella):

- thats what i just did

Mehek (mehek14):

multiply the whole number by the denominator

Mehek (mehek14):

then add the product with the numerator

Mehek (mehek14):

so 5 * 7 + 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

38

Mehek (mehek14):

ok so your fraction would be \(\dfrac{38}{7}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
