A body system is a group of tissues or organs working together to do a specific job of supporting life. Examples are the circulatory system to carry nutrients and oxygen around the body to keep all the tissues and cells alive, and the respiratory system to move air in and out of the lungs to pick up the oxygen that the circulatory system delivers to other parts of the body and to get rid of carbon dioxide the byproduct of cellular respiration. There are several others: musculoskeletal, reproductive, nervous, etc. Cells undergo differentiation during development and take on specific roles to support a multicellular organism. The form tissues that are used to form organs. The organs and other tissues for the organ systems referred to above.
