Do you know how to find the slope and intercept from the equation of a line?

OpenStudy (durply):

the slope is -3/4 right

OpenStudy (mathmate):

How did you get that?

OpenStudy (durply):

went top from bottom

OpenStudy (mathmate):

could you show me how you got -3/4?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Hint: slope is \(\Delta y /\Delta x\)

OpenStudy (durply):

thats what i did

OpenStudy (mathmate):

That's a good start, but still you have not explained the part about -3/4!

OpenStudy (durply):

idk

OpenStudy (mathmate):

In math, if you don't know, you are better off asking how to do it. A guess will get you nowhere. The next problem will be more difficult. Do you know the equation of a line in slope intercept form?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Anyway, the slope intercept form of a line is y=mx+b where m=slope, b=y-intercept. Read off m and b from the graph. Then expand each of the four equations (answers) to find m and b for each. The one that matches both m and b is the correct answer.
