Will give medal PLEASE Isla flipped a coin 30 times. The coin landed heads up 9 times and tails up 21 times. Part A: Based on the results, what is the experimental probability of the coin landing heads up? Show your work. (5 points) Part B: What is the theoretical probability of the coin landing heads up? Show your work. (5 points)
Well the experimental probability would be based on what your "experiment" showed So, out of the 30 flips...9 were tails and 21 were heads So \[\large P(Heads) = \frac{21}{30}\] Now the THEORETICAL probability would be what you would expect to happen Now a coin has 2 sides...heads and tails...so you would expect if you flip the coin 30 times...half would beheads..and half would be tails right? *provided this is a standard fair coin that is* So your theoretical probability would be \[\large P(Heads) = \frac{15}{30}\]
