The capacity of a cylinder is 942 mL. The radius of the cylinder is 5 cm. What is the height of the cylinder? 12mL 12cm 60mL 60cm

i think the answer would be 12 cm. because Volume= Height x Area. We need to find the area. How do we do that? Simple: Area, is the same as the area of a circle. Area of circle= pi x r^2 We already have the radius. BUT, we must be careful how we use it. It's still in centimeters. Convert it to meter, and the area becomes: Area= 3.1415926547 x (0.05^2) Now, we have the volume and the area. Height= Volume/Area. But before you do that, you must note a very very important detail. To be able to convert from Liter to Meter, you need to know that, 1 liter= 1 dm^3 1 liter= 0.001 meter^3. Anyways, when you perform all calculations, you should get Height=12 cm. So the answer is B.

Um-- Thank you but could you explain that in a way a 7th grader who is crap at math, could understand it....? Sorry for any inconvenience--
