Which is an irrational number? A. B. C. D.

OpenStudy (brunsonni):

I can't see the numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[a.\sqrt{1}\] \[b.\sqrt{49}\] \[c.\sqrt{9}\] \[d.\sqrt{80}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, it wouldnt let me do it w/o using the commands

geerky42 (geerky42):

Well, which number in square root is NOT square number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-.-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i like kittens, not math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe its d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you also believe that it is d @geerky42 ?

geerky42 (geerky42):

Why not A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it a?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its between a or d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

T.T

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry i think its a

geerky42 (geerky42):

Com'on this is easy, really... is 1 a square number? Yes or no?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its not thats why its a

geerky42 (geerky42):

Really? strange, because \(1^2 = 1\)

geerky42 (geerky42):

or \(1\times1 = 1\) So 1 is square number. So \(\sqrt{1}=1\), which is not irrational number. Do same and check for B or C.

geerky42 (geerky42):

You can do that yourself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i just read cause the sqr root of 2 is irrational so the sqr root of 1 cant be irrational too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so yea its d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry that these people are making it hard for you to understand, but the answer is d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hes right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk thanks ^_^
