Can anyone teach me further about command prompt and inspect element. Tell me how they function, and how i can use them :)

Command Prompt and Terminal are just tools with commands to let you interact with your computer. You can do all sorts of things with these commands. You can create a directory (folder), list network connections, and much more. If you're wanting to learn these commands, I strongly recommend you try out a UNIX based operating system such as Ubuntu. You can try this in a sandbox environment by getting VMWare player and an iso of Ubuntu. There are new-user friendly tutorials on YouTube detailing how to set this up.

The Inspect Element tool in browsers generally referred to as Developer Tools. It allows you to edit things locally (meaning that only you can see these changes), see how resources are being used, and makes it easier for developers to debug scripts. You'll be using these tools a lot if you're a front-end web developer. Front-end web developers design sites and create scripts to add interactive functionality to the site. If this interests you, you should look into learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

But since I mentioned front-end development, I should also clarify that there is a back-end and what this is. Back-end development is a bit less creative (though at times it can be creative in a mathematical context!). Back-ends do all the behind the scenes work. Let's say you post a comment on a blog. The back-end would take what you wrote and put it into a database of other comments so others can see it when they come to the page. If you like to make things efficient down to the millisecond, then you should try it out! Python, Ruby, and PHP are very common languages to find in back-ends. I do back-end work 95% of the time, so if this interests you, then I'd be happy you steer you in the right direction.

It can be confusing at first! If you're interested in getting a bit more knowledge on this subject, then I highly recommend you look into some basic computer science classes available online.

Just to add on to what mathslover said, you should definitely sign up for this course: https://www.coursera.org/course/cs101

It's free to join and very informative! Best of all, it assumes no prior knowledge. You'll have a very clear understanding of how computers operate after this course, and how you can use programming to make the computer do what you want. Computers are as logical and literal as possible, so trying to develop the proper mindset to understand them can be a bit difficult. Many people find this very off-putting, but I wouldn't let that deter you from trying it out and seeing if computer science is something that you would like to further pursue.
