What is the exact value for the expression \[\sqrt{56} - \sqrt{14} + \sqrt{126}\]

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

Simplify if possible.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. Lets divide the first value, which is square root of 56, integers starting 2 and so on. 56 / 2 = 28 (28 can be further divided by 2) 28 / 2 = 14 (14 can be further divided by 2) 14 / 2 = 7 (7 can only be divided by 7) 7 / 7 = 1 After we factorized this we will write the expression like this: \[\sqrt{56} = \sqrt{2^2 \times 2 \times 7 }\] You can pull the 2 squared as 2 out of the square root, but others have to stay inside. \[\sqrt{56} = 2\sqrt{14}\] Apply this method to others...
