1. Write a formal outline for your research paper. Include topics, subtopics, and details so that the reader gains a clear idea of the contents of your paper. Use your organized note cards as a basis for your outline. Remember to begin with a title and to follow all the formatting rules. You may refer to the Making Formal Outlines page to help with the format.

How much of this outline did you get done?

OpenStudy (kimberlyevens):

just the intro

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Oh. How long does it have to be?

OpenStudy (kimberlyevens):

I. Introduction A. Attention-getter B. Background information connecting the reader to the subject C. Thesis: (write the complete thesis statement) II. Category 1 (change this to the actual name of category): topic sentence A. First point 1. Supporting evidence—quote, paraphrase, or detail 2. Another piece of supporting evidence B. Second point 1. Supporting evidence 2. Supporting evidence C. Third point (Same as above) III. Category 2: topic sentence A. First point 1. Supporting evidence 2. Supporting evidence B. Second point IV. Category 3: topic sentence V. Conclusion Your sub points for the conclusion to wrap up the overarching

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Well for the first one, I'd pick A. It seems the simplest. Try connecting the reader to the situation. Do something like "Unequipped and unprepared, you run without aim. Searching for any sign of life left over from this feast of violence and dismay."

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Oh wait. That's the introduction. Neve rmind then.

OpenStudy (kimberlyevens):

i have all the information i just need it in the outline and i know where i want the info

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Ok. So what's the information that you have?

OpenStudy (kimberlyevens):
