need help -5x+y<-2, 2x+y>-9 A (–7, –1) b(–1, –7) c (3, 5) d(0, 3)

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

all you want to do is substitute ("plug") in the values that you are given into the two equations and find one which satisfies the equation. :) For example... if we use option A which is (-7, -1) ---> x = -7 , y = -1 right? So sub x = -7 and y = -1 into the equations : -5x+y<-2 plug in x = -7, y = -1 and we get: -5 ( -7) + (-1) < -2 35 - 1 < -2 34 < -2 Now note that "<" means is less than. So is 34 LESS than -2?
