question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait a sec i need to screen shot it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@puppylover52

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

The question says that v=25. The equation says v-5. All you have to do is plug in the value of v into the equation and solve.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhhh O_O what?

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

http://prntscr.com/7c8h9x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no clue what u just said i understand some may know this but

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Since the question said that v=25, and there's a v in the problem v-5, do you think that you'd be able to put 25 in for v? Like 25-5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 20

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

yup :)

liptons profile: age:12 grade:5th smart in class:false dumb in class:true smart period:false dumb period:true

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

When they give you a variable like v or any other letter, and it says that it equals a number, you can remember that whatever the variable equals, plug it in for the same letter. Like this n=1 n+2 So 1+2=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kimmybatten97

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Same thing with this one. J=32, so every time you see a J, replace it with 32 and solve.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20+12=32 :P

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Where'd you get that from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooo idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wait 32+12

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

yep, you got it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 44

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Now you know that you need to plug in 6 for every a you see. But when the two numbers are side by side together, you multiply. So \(\ 4+ a \times 2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk dumb it down a bit idk know what im even pluging in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oooooo

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

a=6. So every time you see an a, put in a six instead. Now what do you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its 16

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Same thing with this one. Every time you see a z, put in a 5. But we have to do the parentheses first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 35/5

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Right again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry im not that smart but dont worry its for a good cause

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

So every time you see a k, put in 5. But we have to multiply first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats the .2 for

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

That means to multiply.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

27-10

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

17

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no idea what this one is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

87

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Again, plug in a 5 every time you see a t. Remember PEMDAS though. Multiply before you add.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

133

OpenStudy (anonymous):

87
