How do I explain to someone how to get the answer when they haven't even read the book?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when They or you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Someone in Lit told me they hadn't read the book for a unit assessment. I want to help them get the answer without directly giving it.

OpenStudy (mle):

Tell them to read the book :P but if you are feeling really generous, you can find a shorter reading (sparknotes summery or something) that has the answer in it and tell them to read that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah a summary usually works, like a wiki link :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They said that they didn't have the book.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I also don't understand it. Why take the test-- And to not read the book-- Just to ask all the question on OS and cheat?

OpenStudy (mle):

there are many sources online for popular books there are many more summaries of books many many students are usually required to read

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The other one they asked was what did someone say in a letter to the other person. I merely gave them the letter. Word for word. It's quite an obvious answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I gave them a cliffnote link.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

You can't ask test questions in the first place...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True. She's cheating because she didn't even read the book.
