What is the general form of the series 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + … + 1,024?

1) Find what kind of series it is (arithmetic or geometric) 2) Find the exponent or ratio 3) Find the upper bounds based on step 2. I saw that each term is the square of n+1, to 1024 is the square of the last nth term, making the last n 32 4) Put it into sum notation
actually, this might not be the "general form"
I don't know general form, but it should be easy since you know the sum notation now
