Please help! I don't understand this. Picture of the graph uploaded below. If 300 people donated blood in Springfield, about how many were AB+? (Note that you must multiply by the percent to find out.)
I honestly hate problems like this. They are designed to trip people up because of the wiggle room in the values you read off the graph. It's some percentage less than 5%, but the exact percentage? Who knows really. What percentage for AB+ did you get?
I mean I figured it had to be somewhere around 1% or 1.5% I can't really tell.
The blue bar for AB+ is larger, and beyond the halfway point from 0% to 5% so I'd say the blue is like 3% maybe?
but this is an educated guess really
I would guess about 3%
the red bar is below halfway, so 1% or so in total, 1% + 3% = 4% for all of AB+ from both towns
whatever the percent is, multiply the decimal form of it by 300 to get your answer
It sounds like they want only Springfield?
oh right, nvm the other town then
I believe the answer is 9.
3% of 300 = 9, yes
Ah well, thank you for helping me make sense of it. I'll probably be back with another simple problem that i think is difficult!!
you're welcome
