PLEASE HELP WILL GIVE MEDAL, FAN, AND TESTIMONIAL!
@AJ01
I could try it... don't quote me on it though xD I don't know how the first one would work , but the last 2 I got some idea
Its ok i have to get this one right to pass. But i appreciate your willingness! your the first! lol
You have a total of 9 marbles: 2 white and 7 purple. You will have a better chance of drawing a purple marble since 7/9 = 0.77x100 = 77% chance versus a measly 2/9 = 0.22x100 = 22% chance for a white marble to be picked.
And since the chances for a white marble to be picked is already slim, you have to be really lucky for both white marbles to be picked. I think it shares the same percentage, but then again it could be much lower.
do you mind if i have someone check your answers? please dont take it personal she said you had an idea so i just want to make sure thats all

I'm not good at stats... didn't even take stats. I'm more of a Number Theory, ODE, PDE person, so if I go on blast that's ok.
thanks

@js7474 The probability of drawing two particular marbles without replacement can be worked with tree diagrams.|dw:1433503741798:dw| This is a two step experiment, so you would multiply the probabilities of each step. For(1) Purple followed by white, P(PW)=7/9 * 2/8 7/9 because there are 7 purple out of 9 total 2/8 because there are 2 white out of 8 remaining (see tree diagram) The remaining cases can be read off the tree diagram and calculated. Have a good day!
