Can someone please help? This is my last question and I really need help Part 1: Using complete sentences, compare the key features and graphs of sine and cosine. What are their similarities and differences? Part 2: Using these similarities and differences, how would you transform f(x) = 2 sin(2x - π) + 3 into a cosine function in the form f(x) = a cos(bx - c) + d?
If you have a mac, I would recommend using the program called grapher it comes standard with all mac operating systems If you do not I recommend wolfram alpha http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=sin%28x%29%2C+cos%28x%29 based on these two graphs you should be able to discern their differences and similarities as for your next question: you want, 2*sin(2x - π) + 3 to be equal to a function in form a*cos(bx - c) + d http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=2sin%282x+-+%CF%80%29+%2B+3 I recommend you take your function given in the form a*sin(bx - c) + d and play around with each of the values to see how it changes the graph. For example changing the value 2 to 5 how does that shift the graph. Do that for all variables then you can see what variables you need to modify to what to solve the problem.
