What are the domain and range of the function? (E R is the weird E and R sign, I believe it means infinite) y = 2x + 5 Domain X | X E R ; Range y | y >= 0 <---- My answer Domain X | X E R ; Range y | y E R Domain X | X E R ; Range y | y > -2.5 Domain X | X E R ; Range y | y >= -5
correct or not? lol im confused on this one
you pick A why?
just to clarify: symbols are: \[e~ is \in \] and R is the capital R which looks like 2 R's drawn over the top of eachother?
yes and I chose A cause I didn't see anything negative in the equation, I could be very wrong though, I tried drawing it out on a graph but I Just can't see it
graph attached
so it's b! :D
yeps ;)
thanks! :D can you help me on one more?
all real numbers
sure==> shoot
ok so almost the same thing, https://k12va.aplusanywhere.com/R85Content/media/pictures/algebra1a/4-2-2-14.gif?ts=1433574583941 I know this is an easy one but I want to be certain I get it right lol A: https://k12va.aplusanywhere.com/R85Statics/media/pictures/algebra%20ia/4.2.2/test/14/1419027972933/1366x768/1419027972933.png B: https://k12va.aplusanywhere.com/R85Statics/media/pictures/algebra%20ia/4.2.2/test/14/1419027972929/1366x768/1419027972929.png C: https://k12va.aplusanywhere.com/R85Statics/media/pictures/algebra%20ia/4.2.2/test/14/1419027972931/1366x768/1419027972931.png D: https://k12va.aplusanywhere.com/R85Statics/media/pictures/algebra%20ia/4.2.2/test/14/1419027972927/1366x768/1419027972927.png
I wanna say C
cool... so domain are all possible inputs (x values) and range is all possible outputs... yeah? just based on where ur graph starts and stops i'd put domain as 0-4 and range as 0 to 2... i don't really see any of the answers as correct as i can't see the equation for the line, so i don't know if it continues on past x=4...? otherwise it looks like it may curve back downwards towards the x axis
yea that's what got me xD cause I mean there is no stop point on the graph so I was like uuuugh xD
given the choices we have though... wouldn't D be a better answer than C tho?
yes I get it now lol because y was at 0 too
2 more?
sure, posts gettin a bit long tho, maybe close an open a new one?
ok thanks :)
The second statement is the correct :domain X and range Y is all elements E(numbers) of real numbers R for this function exist because the function is a straight line
