OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

The volume of a prism is 230 mm3. Which statements are true about the same prism measured in cubic centimeters? Choose all answers that are correct. A. The number representing the volume would decrease. B. The number representing the volume would increase. C. The actual volume would decrease. D. The actual volume would increase. E. The actual volume would stay the same.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

I have no idea on this one. o3o

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

Same, @imqwerty

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

@imqwerty

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

I think it would be E, but i have no clue.

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

Because nothing is happening to the prism from what i read

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

but usually when it says choose *all* it means more than one, however i have had a test where it says choose all and there was only one answer for the problem.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

@Michele_Laino

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

we have: \[\Large 1c{m^3} = 1000\;m{m^3}\]

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

so the volume of your prism is: \[\Large V = \frac{{230}}{{1000}} = ...?\]

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

o.23

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

yes!

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

:D

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

namely the number is decreased

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

A and C?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

C is not correct, since the space occupied by an object doesn't change, and the volume of an object is the measure of the space occupied by that object

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

So, just A

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

no, I think there are two options

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Is A a possibility?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

A is right, and what is the other one?

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

I don't know. Meowlover said E is that correct?

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

yes! I think that option E is also correct, since as I said before, the space occupied by an object doesn't change

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

:D

OpenStudy (meowlover17):

Great

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

:)

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Cool, Thank you!

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

thanks!! :)
