3x + 4 + 2x = 5(x – 2) + 7 determine whether each has one solution, infinitely many solutions or no solution.
The equality holds for any value you choose. Hence, infinitely many solutions.
step by step please - why you think it so ?
1. 5x+4=5x-10+7 - so like first step yes ?
@billj5 so can you finish it for medal ?
If the two equations on either side of the '=' sign are exactly the same after you simplify and expand, you have many solutions. If the you can solve for x by rearranging the equation and siimplifying you have one solution. That is the lines intersect at one point. If the equations are different on either side of the '=' sign, and after expanding simplifying and solving for x you do not have an answer you have no solutions.
Hope this makes it clearer for you to understand.
