little challenge. You have 8 balls (all look and) weight the same BUT 1 of the balls weights less than the rest. You have a scale, and you can use the scale twice. How can you determine which ball is the ball that weighs less ?
oh, message. please don't just give it away...
"You have 8 balls (all look and) weight the same BUT 1 of the balls weights less than the rest." I think it should say... "You have 8 balls (all look and) weight the same PLUS 1 balls which weighs less than the rest." :)
but is a corresponding conjunction that fits the purpose that I want to indicate. That is, that although 8 balls weight the same, there is an exception (one of the balls weighs less).
yes but that is 3 weighings
@idku its ur Q so u get to decide how it reads :P i just thought making 9 the total no. of balls will make the Q easier! lol
if you take 2 pairs of 3 and they weigh the same then the light ball is one of the other 2 You then weigh one against the other to find the light ball.
oh we have nine balls?
oh we decide 8 or 9 right?
@welshfella Nope - I thought it was with 9 balls but OP said its 8. either way u got it :)

the question is what is the final question??
now if one set of 3 balls weigh differently you take the lightest and pick 2 out and weigh them again If 0ne wieghs light its that one If they weigh the same its the other ball.
correct @welshfella n thats why I thought making a total 9 would be easier. But same method will work for 8.
good question
