What is the mean of Variable A? http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1549000_1549500/1549020/1/ccd22028f314df1a1d19dd0d566c910bd139c026/MS_IMC-141015-108153.jpg

pooja195 (pooja195):

You would need to have more info than this

pooja195 (pooja195):

As of now its just the x axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is all the info it gives me

pooja195 (pooja195):

Well then it doesnt hav anything to do with the answer itself :)

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

cant u use the x-coordinates that make up the points @pooja195

pooja195 (pooja195):

:/ not sure .

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

hmm i think you can @misty1212 what do u say?

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

@leutz13 is it multiple choice question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no you have to put in a answer

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

ok i'll try my best and then i'll tag someone to check my answer sounds good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

ok can u create ordered pairs for the points like an ordered pair for the point thats at the very top would be (1,10) because 1 - x and 10 -y got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(7,9) (8,9) (3,7) (4,6) (2,5) (6,5) (1,4) (2,3) (8,9)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did i do that right?

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

you're missing two :P and i dont see (8,9) o_O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the lat one

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

that's (10,9) :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok yeah srry

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

it's cool and the one u were missing are (1,10), (8,2), and (10,9) so in general it's (1,4) (1,10) (2,3) (2,5) (3,7) (4,6) (6,5) (7,9) (8,2) and (10,9) got it? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

do u know how to calculate the mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

it's like an average u add all the numbers and divide by the amount of the item in this case u add all the x-coordinates from each ordered pair and divide it by 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be 44/10?

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

yes which gives us 4.4 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k thanks

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

anytime! :)
