Well, why don't you graph them? One way you may not have thought of, that might make your life easier... Rather than graphing \(y = 5x^{2} + 4x - 2\) and finding where it hits the x-axis, perhaps you could graph both sides of \(5x^{2} = 2 - 4x\) and see where they intersect.
