What is the best explanation for why international relief agencies might speak to officials in Kenya concerning an ongoing drought in neighboring Somalia? Kenya may want to contribute additional farmland along the border to help provide relief for Somalia. With the threat of famine, Somalia’s government could fall and be replaced with one that would attack Kenya. Kenya might need to expect large numbers of people to enter the country to avoid famine in Somalia. Famine could lead to deaths and disease that could spread to Kenya.

B I think

OpenStudy (surana):

Take three, subtract by two.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But didn't they have a problem with famine?

OpenStudy (surana):

And farmland helps deal with famine. Growing food and all that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So A or B?

OpenStudy (surana):

Frankly, I believe the first of those two choices is your answer. Kind of hard to attack someone when your army is starving.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kenya could expect large numbers of people to enter Kenya in order to avoid famine....this is so b/c there are already huge somalian refugee camps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@danicap so do you think its A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think @Surana ?

OpenStudy (surana):

Okay, actually, yeah. That sounds even better.

OpenStudy (surana):

Go with the third one.
