Which polynomial has a greatest common factor of 10y? A. 20x3 y3 + 30x2 y2 - 40x3 B. 40x4 y2 - 100xy + 30y C. x5 y3 + 100x3 y2 - 50xy D. 50x2 y - 20xy + 5y

OpenStudy (rhystic):

first off you'd be looking for a polynomial with y in every part. Second you'd be looking for one where all the numbers divide evenly by 10.

i think the answer is @Rhystic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are your thought @Rhystic

OpenStudy (rhystic):

nope; look again if you divide 5 by 10 you will end up with a fraction so it wouldn't be a common factor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c? @Rhystic

OpenStudy (rhystic):

no, remember all the numbers have to be divisible by 10 and not create a fraction in c the first part would leave x5y3/10
