Find and angle between 0 and 2pi that is coterminal with -5/8pi. Express your answer in radians in terms of pi

OpenStudy (faf3):

please help me!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If x is any angle, then a coterminal angle is x + any multiple of 2pi. So to find a coterminal angle in the range you're given, add/subtract multiples of 2pi to -5/8pi until you get one in range.

OpenStudy (faf3):

is subtracted and got -21pi/8. Is that right? Im kind of confused.

OpenStudy (faf3):

I added and got 11pi/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11pi/8 is between 0 and 2pi so that's the angle you're looking for. Basically two angles are coterminal if they are the same when drawn; adding 2pi to an angle is essentially rotating in a full circle.

So for example, ..., -8pi, -6pi, -4pi, -2pi, 0, 2pi, 4pi, 6pi, 8pi, ... are all coterminal.
