I got 62.04 centimeters and I was wondering if anyone could double check it for me. pleaseeeeee

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Seems a little short. How did you do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I used the Pythagorean Theorem to find the lengths of the long and short sides then I just used the perimeter formula to add it all together. 24 squared - 7 squared = side1 576 - 49 = side 1 square root 527 = side 1 side1 = 22.96 7 squared + 4 squared = side2 49 + 16 = side2 square root 65 = side2 side 2 =8.06 (22.96)2 + (8.06)2 = perimeter 45.92 + 16.12 = 62.04 cm this is my work @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Why would there ever be subtraction. You are finding the hypotenuse. The Right Angles are in the middle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh I didnt look at it carefully and i thought that 24 was the hypotenuse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for double checking my work @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Let's see your final result. Thank YOU for showing your work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay I got 66.12 cm 24 squared + 7 squared = side1 576 + 49 = side 1 square root 625 = side 1 side1 = 25 7 squared + 4 squared = side2 49 + 16 = side2 square root 65 = side2 side 2 =8.06 (25)2 + (8.06)2 = perimeter 50 + 16.12 = 66.12 cm

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Now, we're talkin'!! Good work.

Thank you so much :)
