Can someone factor this in two different ways for a medal?
9x2 + 3x - 2 = 0 in one method and 3x2 - 10x + 2 = 0 in a different method.
@Ndude1 How long you gonna be typing dude?
the first equation can be factored using completing the square. First divide each term by 9. 1. x^2+1/3x−2/9=0 2. Take half of x term coefficient (1/3) which is 1/6 then square it to get 1/36 3. add to both sides 4. Now the equation looks like: x^2+1/3x+1/36=1/4 5. Now factor this equation to be: 6. (x+16)^2=1/4 7. square root both sides 8. get x+1/6=±√(1/4) 9. x = ±√(1/4)-(1/6) 10. solve for x now which is (1/3 and -2/3)
Oh my god your actually here to help
For the second equation factor using quadratic formula because it uses difficult irrational numbers: 1. x =−b±sqrt(b^2−4ac)/2a 2. the equation is of the form ax^2+bx+c, therefore plug in values. 3. Looks something like this: x=−(−10)±sqrt((−10)^2(−4)⋅(3)⋅(2))/2⋅3 4. x is : x=10±√76/6
Is that it?
yes
Thank you so much man.
