I will give a medal to the best answer! How were the Celtic warrior-goddesses Macha, Morrigan, and Badb similar to the Valkyries in Norse mythology? How were they different?

Hi, how are you? Give me a second to gather info and ill be with you in a second with the answer.

OpenStudy (geekfromthefutur):

uch mythological war was conducted yearly between figures like Baal and Mot, Balder and Hodder, Osiris/Horus and Set in order to gain the favors of the respective goddesses Anath, Nana and Isis, as described in my article “The Fight for Love and Glory in Myth and Literature.” The goddess supervising this war would be none other than the Great Mother of Life and Death.

Dude they're asking about Norse and Celtic why are you even mentioning Egyptian.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yer dumb. that's ridiculous. The actual answer is that the Celtic goddesses you're talking about are all goddesses of power, war, and the afterlife. The Valkyries were warrior women who trained to fight in the Norse apocalypse, Ragnarok. The Celtic goddesses you talked about are symbolism of lady power and war, so they both share the same image of "strong independent awesome lady deities"
