The cone in the diagram has the same height and base area as the prism. What is the ratio of the volume of the cone to the volume of the prism?

well the forumlae are \[Cone: ~~~V = \frac{1}{3} \times Base~ Area \times Height\] \[Prism:~~~V = Base ~Area \times Height\] so the ratio Cone:Prism \[\frac{1}{3} Base~Area \times Height : Base~ Base Area \times Height\] now is the base areas are the same, and the heights are the same, so they are common factors. so you can remove them and then find the ratio... hope it helps
