OpenStudy (babynini):

What is an example of a proof? I'm allowed to take notes into my math final but it says "no proofs" what does that mean?

OpenStudy (babynini):

@peachpi @zepdrix @rvc :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like no proofs of equations, identities, or theorems.

OpenStudy (babynini):

..but what does that mean.

OpenStudy (babynini):

For example one thing I have is restricted domains for sin, tan, and cos I have law of sins with "use when you have one side, two angles. or angle, angle opposite" is that all ok??

OpenStudy (babynini):

Basically I have formulas with notes on when to use it. so law of cosine: SAS, SSS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that sounds ok. It sounds like you can't take in a proof of the law of sines/cosines, etc. And you've probably been proving trig identities, so you can't take them in.

OpenStudy (babynini):

k. Oh well I have like sin^2+cos^2=1 and tan^2+1=sec^2t that's not ok? o.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would think those are ok since they're identities, but you couldn't show the proof of either of them. For example this is a proof of the 3rd pythag. identity |dw:1434732554823:dw|
