whats the Pythagorean Theorem ?
|dw:1435109397977:dw| good question! the pythagorean theorem states that a^2 + b^2 = c^2, where a and b are the legs of any right triangle and c is the hypotenuse
so is than when soh cah toah comes into place or how ever it goes?
soh cah toah is a bit different, that has to do with the ratio of sides let me illustrate
|dw:1435109534106:dw|
sinA = opposite/hypotenuse = a/c cosA = adjacent/hypotenuse = b/c tanA = opposite/adjacent = a/b
so if i have a question like this how would i go about doing it ? Which construction can you use to prove the Pythagorean Theorem based on similarity of triangles?
huh, I'm actually not quite sure about this one @peachpi would you be able to help on this one?
sorry it went out on this side umm there was a graph with it
or a picture
I'm not sure either. I think you can construct a line from the right angle perpendicular to the hypotenuse, but I don't know the name for it. |dw:1435110227632:dw|
