What do tobacco, cotton, and rice have in common? They were all cash crops. They were all subsistence crops. They were all grown on small farms. They were all grown in New England.

@Blackmill Hello and Welcome to OpenStudy! :) You seem new here and more than willing to help which is mighty fine since we need all the help we can get :) but you might want to take some time and read this site's code of conduct! http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct This site has a policy for "Give Help, Not Answers" violations of such policies could potentially result in an account suspension or ban. It's great to see another helper among us, so it would be sad if you got in trouble for giving out answers. Hope you'll have a nice time here on OpenStudy, and I'll see ya around :) Have a Nice Day!

OpenStudy (paki):

@callejero24 please have a look here for details... http://www.landofthebrave.info/plantations.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is bupellet

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

?? Just go to the link @paki gave you and it explains it all

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

It says in the link "Plantations - Cash Crops Tobacco, rice, cotton, sugar cane and indigo were valuable plants and grown as cash crops. Cash crops (as opposed to subsistence crops) were specialized crops that were grown by planters to be sold for profits and not used for personal use on the plantations. Planters had no trouble transporting their crops because of the many waterways in the Southern colonies that made it made it easy for ocean going ships to tie up at plantation docks."

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

So its cash crops like it says above due to the fact that they're grown to sell :D

OpenStudy (paki):

@callejero24 please participate here so that we can guide you...
