Can somebody help me please? You randomly pick two numbers from 1 to 9 (including 1 and 9). A number that is chosen once could be chosen again. If at least one of the two numbers is odd and less than 5, what is the probability that their sum will be less than 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it should be 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can go on a number line and go to 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 What goes into 9 besides 1 and less than 5 would be 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but she wants the probability not the number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is a probabilty of 2/9 i believe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would still be 3... there is no other number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the number is 3 and the probability 2/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, you can give her the wrong answer.... idc.. Moving on.
