find the pattern of this sequence 1,11,21,1211,111221,312211,13112221,....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1113213211

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain more?

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

hmmm what is this "1"

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

hello -.-

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

first u have this term "1" which is ONE 1 so next term would be ONE 1 1 1 NEXT u have this term "11" which is TWO 1 so next term would be TWO 1 2 1 CAN U MAKE A GUESS WITH THE REST?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't understand yet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

theres no pattern here...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes there is 1 -> you have ONE 1 = 11 11 -> now you have TWO 1's = 21 21 -> now you have ONE 2, ONE 1 = 1211 etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh ok I didn't notice it like that ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1211 -> ONE 1, ONE 2, TWO 1('s) = 111221

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was saying add/sub is the easiest thing and im not tying to look for add/sub stuff ...its time to learn harder stuff if I want to get smarter lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know John Conway? he thought for hours to find the pattern but he couldn't and one of his friends discovered the pattern.the book which I saw this question didn't have it's answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, got it @Ddaddysgirl13, I misunderstood.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok mistakes happen :)
