68 divided by 4 --------------- 100 divided by 4

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

should give us 17/25

I was thinking c cause 15% is $3 I believe

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

let's convert the percentage into decimal 15/100 = 0.15 0.15 x 20.00 = 3 $20.00+3 =23 yes it is C. You are good at this :)

Bentio read 14 books in 3 months, which was 35% of the number of books he had signed up for during school year How many books did benitio sign up to read ? A.40 B.42 C.56 D.105 -ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@LynFran can u help me maybe with a few more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u do this one ? ^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@NICK702222

OpenStudy (welshfella):

by proportion the number of books he signed for = 14 / 0.35

OpenStudy (welshfella):

(35% = 0.35)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

just gran your calculator and work out 14 divided by 0.35

OpenStudy (welshfella):

* grab!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could u help me with ths one up top bout the books and before that.......@LynFran

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

-_-. I actually got the previous question.. must be my sleep depriving mode

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol it happens

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

75% of a number is 120. What is 40% of the number? A.36 B.64 C.138 D.225 we are told that 75% of a number is 120. So we have to figure that part out first

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

0.75 x 120 = 90 so now we have 90 we need 40% of 90 converting from percent to decimal 40/100 = 0.40 0.40 x 90 = 36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

40 books

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

as for Bentio read 14 books in 3 months, which was 35% of the number of books he had signed up for during school year How many books did benitio sign up to read ? A.40 B.42 C.56 D.105 someone already gave out a clue which was 14/0.35 that's 40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok theres 6 more QS..do u mind helping

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

I could try... I haven't been sleeping well in weeks.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

@NICK702222 - please dont just give the answer to the question. Guide the questioner to the answer - read Code of Conduct. The poster learns nothing if you just give the answer

OpenStudy (lynfran):

for this question what was ur answer 75% of a number is 120. What is 40% of the number? A.36 B.64 C.138 D.225

OpenStudy (lynfran):

@Ddaddysgirl13

OpenStudy (lynfran):

36 is incorrect let me explain

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

told you it's sleep issues and I haven't done these in ages. >_<

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

so when I was rechecking, I had this odd number that didn't fit, so there must be another method.

OpenStudy (lynfran):

\[\frac{ 75 }{ 100}*160=120\] so we use 160 and find 40% of it \[\frac{ 40 }{ 100 }*160=64\]

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

where did you get 160?

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

oh x.x misread the question 75% of a number is 120. 0.75 x n = 120

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

then divide 0.75 for 160

OpenStudy (lynfran):

\[\frac{ 100 }{ 75 }*120=160\]

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

then 160 x 0.40 = 64

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

accidentally overlooked the "a number" part. x(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The orginial price of a watch is $109. It was on sale for $100.28.what was the discount rate...this has no answers

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

try... original price - sale price to figure out the difference

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

I found the discount rate, but what I did... well I don't recommend it.. it's trial and error.

OpenStudy (lynfran):

@UsukiDoll method is correct what answer u get? @Ddaddysgirl13

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

really?

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

I used logic a bit to get my rate XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the answer?

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

the original price is 109 and the sale price is 100.28 what is 109-100.28 ?

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

then we can figure out whether or not our discount rate is big or small.

OpenStudy (lynfran):

@Ddaddysgirl13 do u understand?

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

*should be big or small. omg I'm messing up at typing XD

OpenStudy (lynfran):

ok since you inbox me saying yes do u have any more problems to work here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A desks costs $139.00. if the sales tax is 7%,how much tax would be on this desk - cause i inboxed doesn't mean you have to be like that, my computer acts stupid cause when i type it wont let me again after i post stuff its easier to message sometimes

OpenStudy (lynfran):

ok my bad sorry

OpenStudy (lynfran):

what is 7/100*139

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

first we have to have 7% in decimal form 7/100 = 0.07 then multiply 0.07 by 139

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9.73

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

yes!

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

almost $10 in tax.. D: That's a plate lunch

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

so 4 more questions now?

OpenStudy (lynfran):

the 9.73 would be the amount of tax on the desk ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey its izabellla ummm my password I kinda forgot it oops
