Is -2pi / 3 = 240 degrees and its Degree Equivalent = 2pi/3 ??
I meant Is -2pi / 3 = 240 degrees and its Degree Equivalent = 120 degrees ??
What you can remember is that pi radians = 180 degrees
I see another boo boo I mean Is -2pi / 3 = -240 degrees and its Degree Equivalent = 120 degrees??
So you can replace pi with 180 degrees and simplify it \(\sf\Large \frac{-2(180)}{3}=?\)
Your answer is wrong btw :/
another way to think about it is: -2pi/3 we are working clockwise on the circle, and in radians the whole circle is 2pi so 2pi is also 6pi/3 and so to find out how much we are left at would be: 6pi/3 - 2pi/3 = 4pi/3
-2pi/3 = -120 yes but this is at the 240 mark correct?
correct
|dw:1435338329310:dw|
and you can see from my second example that 4pi/3 = 240 degrees
Ok lets start over. -2pi/3 = -120 degrees, which is at the 240 mark. Now its Equivalent degree is at 120, which is at 2pi/3 ??
"-2pi/3 = -120 degrees, which is at the 240 mark." correct "Now its Equivalent degree is at 120, which is at 2pi/3 ??" and correct
Ok :-) thank you!
anytime :D
