OpenStudy (jacob902):

Which of the following shows the polynomial below written in descending order? 5x^4 + 16x^5 + 6 + 4x^10 + x A. x + 6 + 16x^5 + 5x^4 + 4x^10 B. 6 + 5x^4 + 4x^10 + 16x^5 + x C. 4x^10 + 16x^5 + 5x^4 + x + 6 D. 16x^5 + 5x^4 + 6 + 4x^10 + x

If the polynomial is written in descending order, then the coefficients have to be from greatest to least. Therefore, the answer is C. Hope that helps!

An expression must have a monomial of degree 1 or higher to be a polynomial. A. True B. False

OpenStudy (anonymous):

These are just terms, but I believe that the greatest degree must be 2 or higher to be considered a polynomial. The reason is you don't have to use the quadratic formula to solve for variables until you reach the second degree. So the correct answer is: B, false.
